Since the beginning of Officine Panerai’s history in 1860, the brand has been associated with technology, innovation and of course the sea. As the watch brand of choice for the Royal Italian Navy, Officine Panerai developed models that would aid the Royal Navy in very specific missions. The manufacturer created timepieces that needed to withstand the extreme conditions of navy divers while maintaining accuracy and readability. Years later, the same inspiration goes into every timepiece produced by Officine Panerai today.
Since the beginning of Officine Panerai’s history in 1860, the brand has been associated with technology, innovation and of course the sea.
This year, Officine Panerai introduces the Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Ceramica. The matte black ceramic case, black dial and black strap confirms the appearance of this model was certainly inspired from the deepest parts of the oceans….and of course create an ultra stylish look for this model.
The Luminor Submersible’s black ceramic case measures 47mm and houses an automatic, mechanical Panerai P.9000 calibre movement with a 3 day power reserve. The unidirectional rotating bezel is black ceramic as well, and features a graduated scale used for calculating time while diving. The Luminor Submersible is also equipped with the Trademark device protecting the winding crown which is also constructed of black ceramic.
The dial is black with applied luminous hour markers and skeletonized luminous hands marking the hours and minutes. The date is visible at the 3 o’clock position and small seconds are shown at 9 o’clock on the dial. The dial is protected by a 4mm thick sapphire anti-reflective coated crystal and is water resistant to 300 meters. The case is sealed with a black coated titanium back and engraved with the signature SLC torpedo.
The Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Ceramica is shown on a Panerai personalized leather strap and a titanium buckle with black PVD coating to match the black ceramic case. This model comes with a second interchangeable strap as well.
The Panerai Luminor Submersible 3 Days Ceramica will be produced in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.
