Paris Fashion Week is not where you expect to find a Swiss watchmaker, let alone one with nothing to tell the time. Yet on October 2, 2026, midway through the Spring/Summer 2027 shows, Audemars Piguet unveiled the Royal Oak Joaillerie collection in Paris: necklaces, chokers, cuffs, and earrings that borrow the most recognizable bracelet in modern watchmaking and leave the watch behind entirely.
Royal Oak Joaillerie is Audemars Piguet's new jewelry collection, unveiled in Paris on October 2, 2026. Its first 19 creations, in the Dream of Joux, Risoud Eclipse, and Frosted Gold lines, turn the Royal Oak's bracelet into necklaces, chokers, cuffs, and earrings without a watch.

The idea is simpler than it sounds. The Royal Oak has always flirted with jewelry. Gérald Genta, who designed it in 1972, was a jewelry designer as well as a watch designer, and the Royal Oak’s alternating satin brushing and polished chamfers were meant, in Audemars Piguet’s own description, to throw light the way a diamond’s facets do. Royal Oak Joaillerie takes that tapering, hand-finished bracelet, with its links and studs, and makes it the whole point.
According to the Manufacture’s heritage team, the spark came from the Royal Oak Mini. When Chief Executive Officer Ilaria Resta first saw prototypes of the tiny Frosted Gold watches, she slipped all three gold versions onto one wrist, prompting a colleague to remark, “You’re wearing them like jewellery!†Audemars Piguet’s Meyrin workshops then made three watchless Royal Oak Mini bracelets, and in November 2024 the brand gathered 12 women with a passion for jewelry in Hong Kong for a three-day co-creation initiative called “Éclat.â€

Introducing the Royal Oak Joaillerie
Before Paris, Audemars Piguet showed the pieces to a select group of clients at events in Bangkok, Zurich, and Saint-Tropez. The first 19 creations, co-designed with Nathalie Barzilay, fall into three lines, each tied to the Vallée de Joux, the valley in the Swiss Jura where the company has been based since 1875.
The Risoud Eclipse line is named for the Risoud Forest and the valley’s history of celestial observation, imagined here under the shadow of an eclipse. Its necklace and matching cuff pair black PVD titanium links and studs with 18k white gold and sugarloaf emeralds, five on the necklace (approximately 16.5 carats) and three on the cuff (approximately 12 carats), each surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds. The emeralds’ conical facets were ground and polished so light enters from every angle.

Dream of Joux is the high jewelry heart of the collection. Its tie necklace in anodized blue titanium and 18k white gold carries 42 pear-shaped diamonds of 1.5 carats each (approximately 63 carats), plus a five-carat and a three-carat pear-shaped diamond, while the titanium links are snow-set with 1,670 blue sapphires that cover them completely. The matching drop earrings add eight more pear-shaped diamonds, totaling approximately 15 carats.

The line’s cuffs are where Audemars Piguet lets color run. Each translates a scene from the valley into gemstones on an 18k gold Royal Oak bracelet: the Blue Moon in white gold with sapphires and two shades of blue topaz; a Frozen Lake cuff whose diamonds, tsavorites, sapphires, and topazes mimic ice; a Tree of Life in pink gold with 203 cognac-colored sapphires and more than 590 tsavorites; Blueberries, with a branch of yellow gold threads, amethyst, and black spinel cabochons; and Edelweiss, offered in white or yellow gold. The Sunburst and Blue Moon are described by the brand as unique pieces.

The Sunburst cuff is the most graphic of the group, an 18k yellow gold sunray radiating from an orange spessartite cabochon through spessartites and yellow, orange, and pink sapphires. Two additional pairs of Dream of Joux drop earrings in 18k pink gold, one with tsavorites and topazes, the other with pink sapphires, tourmalines, amethysts, and tanzanites, round out the line.

Then there is the Frosted Gold series: three chokers and three cuffs in 18k pink, white, or yellow gold, named Autumn Mist, Spring Frost, and Summer Haze. The finish was developed with jewelry designer Carolina Bucci in 2016 for the 40th anniversary of the Royal Oak for women, based on an ancient Florentine technique in which the gold is gently hammered with a diamond-tipped tool. Against mirror-polished studs and chamfers, the result reads as a fine diamond dust.

In our view, these six pieces are the collection’s most persuasive argument. The Dream of Joux necklace will get the headlines, but the Frosted Gold chokers and cuffs are the clearest expression of the idea that started it all: a Royal Oak bracelet worn for its own sake, in a finish Audemars Piguet clients already know from the wrist.

A Jewelry Story 50 Years in the Making
If Royal Oak Joaillerie feels like a leap, the Manufacture would argue otherwise. Since the 19th century, Audemars Piguet has made pendant, brooch, and ring watches with jewelers including Tiffany, Cartier, Oscar Heyman, and Bvlgari, along with the 1929 “Tutti Frutti†watch, whose gem-set exterior was made by the Parisian jeweler Egouvillon Lafon & Cie. Jacqueline Dimier, the company’s first in-house designer, reinterpreted the Royal Oak for women in 1976 and designed its first accessories and jewelry. In the 1990s, her design partner Emmanuel Gueit followed the Royal Oak Offshore with a line of Royal Oak jewelry.
The company set up its own jewelry workshop in the 1980s, which led to the Millenary Précieuse line, a Haute Joaillerie watch collection in 2013, and gem-set statements such as the Diamond Trilogy (2015–2017) and the Sapphire Orbe (2019). What is new is the focus: a dedicated collection without a movement in sight, built entirely around one icon.
“A gateway to the past and the future, the Royal Oak Joaillerie collection embodies Audemars Piguet’s free spirit,†explains Resta. “Jewellery has always played an important role in the company’s history. Drawing on our long-standing expertise, we continue to explore this creative realm alongside our core watchmaking activity to fuel our imagination, revisit our codes and enhance our approach to creation and expression.â€
The company is clear that the jewelry is meant to complement the watches, not replace them. Its heritage team describes the pieces as designed to bring added value to the brand’s most discerning clients and to enhance their watch collections. Audemars Piguet’s collection page lists the line as available in selected boutiques, naming 20 AP Houses and boutiques worldwide, among them New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, and the brand has not published prices.
The Royal Oak spent 54 years proving that steel could be treated like gold. With Royal Oak Joaillerie, Audemars Piguet is betting that its bracelet, the part that made the watch, can stand on its own.
