Girard-Perregaux Throws Alex Morgan Bash for Fashion’s Night Out

Olympic gold medallist Alex Morgan, still fresh from her football/soccer triumphs at the 2012 edition of the games,  arrived at the Girard-Perregaux Boutique on Madison Avenue having traded in her athletic cleats for a sleek pair of heels to celebrate her London victory and Fashion’s Night Out.

The celebratory party, hosted Girard-Perregaux, seemed to be shining with a golden theme and Morgan, who was accompanied by family, friends, and Olympic colleagues such as Emily Hughes and Tim Morehouse, took a few minutes to speak to the press of her win and the feeling that everything was finally starting to soak in.

“It was a great honor to represent the United States in these games and bringing the gold medal back home was an amazing feeling”, said Morgan. “I am very appreciative of Girard-Perregaux’s friendship. I love the elegance and attention to detail they apply to every single one of their timepieces and I had a really great time celebrating Fashion’s Night Out and our Olympic achievements at their beautiful boutique.”

Girard-Perregaux,  maker of Haute Horlogerie, was founded in Switzerland in 1791 and presented their first wristwatch with a quartz movement in 1970.  Their second quartz movement wristwatch, presented in 1971 vibrated at 32,768 hertz, which to this day remains the universal frequency standard for watches.   Girard Perregaux is considered one of the leaders in premier watch manufacture.
