Over 140 watch aficionados gathered at New York’s historic hotel, The Carlyle on Thursday April 26 to celebrate the kick-off of the 2nd Annual Madison Avenue Watch Week.

Guests were treated to an installation of fine timepieces, most on view in the United States for the first time, from 15 of the 18 participating Watch Week boutiques.  All enjoyed savory gourmet canapes as well as “The Ticker” specialty cocktail along with fine wines and champagne while checking out the unique gallery of watches and enjoying  compositions by Earl Rose, resident pianist from Cafe Carlyle.

Matt Bauer, President of the Madison Avenue BID welcomed watch connoisseurs and provided an overview on Watch Week before turning the podium over to Laura Rothrock from NY Department of Small Business Services.  Ms. Rothrock shared big news from Michael R. Bloomberg by reading the Mayorial Proclamation announcing that Madison Avenue Watch Week is now recognized as an official NY tradition.

Anthony Cenname, Publisher of WSJ. Magazine, closed out the remarks by thanking all involved and highlighting The Journal’s global reach of brand determiners in the luxury market.
