Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge
Former supplier to the Italian Navy, sponsor today of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge for the 12th consecutive year, Officine Panerai now brings the colour of the sea and the light of the sun to the dials of four new timepieces from the Radiomir 1940 and Luminor 1950 collections, in limited editions, available exclusively in Panerai boutiques.

Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Acciaio 476mm Blue Dial
RADIOMIR 1940 3 DAYS ACCIAIO – 47mm (PAM 00690)
Presented with a 47mm AISI 316L polished steel case and bezel, this timepiece features the new intense blue sun-brushed finish and sandwich structure dial with luminous Arabic numbers and large hour-markers, hour and minute hands, and small seconds dial at 9 o’clock. Gilded hands harmonize with the ecru colour of the Super-LumiNova® and the natural colour of the Assolutamente strap in untreated leather, hot-pressed with the OP logo.
Equipped with the Panerai hand-wound P.3000 calibre with a power reserve of 72 hours visible through the clear sapphire back, the hour hand can be adjusted forwards or backwards one hour at a time without interfering with the minute hand or the running of the watch. Water resistant to 10 bar or approx. 100 meters. EUR8,900. Limited to 500 pieces.

Panerai Radiomir 1940 10 Days GMT Automatic Oro Rosso 45mm Blue Dial
RADIOMIR 1940 10 DAYS GMT AUTOMATIC ORO ROSSO 45mm (PAM 00659)
This superb 45mm case and bezel are made in polished 5NPt red gold. And in addition to the blue dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers, date at 3 o’clock, linear power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock, small seconds and 24h indicator at 9 o’clock, this timepiece boasts Panerai’s first skeletonised automatic movement entirely designed, produced and decorated in the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel — the automatic Manufacture P.2003/10 calibre with three spring barrels for a power reserve of ten days.
Travelers will appreciate the central arrow-shaped hand indicating a second time zone and two time-setting devices: the first stops the balance wheel and returns the seconds hand to zero when the winding crown is pulled out, while the second enables the hand indicating local time to be moved forward or back in one hour steps without moving the minute hand or interfering with the running of the watch, while the date adjusts automatically.

Through the clear case back, we admire the rotor with “Officine Panerai” finely cut out along the edge. Beneath it we discover the skeleton work of the bridges and barrels with polished chamfered edges. This timepiece, water-resistant to 5 bar, comes with a dark blue alligator strap with a red gold buckle. EUR35,000. Limited to 200 pieces.

LUMINOR 1950 3 DAYS GMT AUTOMATIC ACCIAIO 42mm (PAM00688)
This versatile 42 mm polished stainless steel case and bezel with patented crown-protecting device in brushed steel and a see-through sapphire crystal on the back is fitted with the in-house P.9001 automatic caliber with a 3 day power reserve, indicated on the back. Functions of hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and a GMT second time zone are displayed on the striking blue dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers. The timepiece also boasts the seconds reset function to stop the balance wheel and the seconds hand at 9 o’clock when the winding crown is pulled out. Water resistant to 10 bar, it comes with a calf leather strap in dark blue and beige stitching. EUR8,400. Limited to 300 pieces.

Panerai Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT Automatic Acciaio-44mm Blue Dial
The fourth timepiece in this series is the LUMINOR 1950 10 DAYS GMT AUTOMATIC ACCIAIO – 44mm (PAM 00689) in polished stainless steel combining the stunning blue dial with luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers with the technology of the automatic caliber P.2003 with three spring barrels for a power reserve of at least ten days, and functions of hours, date, GMT with am/pm indication, power reserve indicator, seconds reset, and the device for quickly adjusting the hour hand.
With a simple, clean design, enhanced by its structure of two superimposed discs containing ecru Super-LumiNova®, we easily read the ten-day power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock, the date window at 3 o’clock and the 24 hour indicator and small seconds at 9 o’clock. The Manufacture movement with its bi-directional oscillating weight can be admired through the transparent sapphire crystal on the back. Water-resistant to 10 bar.
This timepiece is supplied with a blue alligator strap. EUR13,000. Limited to 300 pieces.

Each watch in this special series is presented in a blue box that contains a second strap made of rubber, the tool for changing the strap, and a screwdriver.
