With the Zeitwerk Lange & Söhne has been able to create an icon that can step out of the shadow of the Lange 1, and hold its ground. Yet with the Zeitwerk the brand also created something else in the process: the perfect canvas for audible complications. Already available as Striking Time, which chimes the hours and quarters, and as a Minute Repeater, it is now joined by a Decimal Strike.

It is hard to imagine that a watch like the Reverso could become even more successful. With the creation of the "Reverso Tribute"-collection, this is exactly what happened. Now that Jaeger-LeCoultre has released the Reverso Tribute Moon it moves to even higher ground.

The first thing that strikes you is what a balanced design the 1815 Annual Calendar is. Most brands feel the need to do something quirky to have their annual calendars stand out between the full calendars and the perpetual calendars, but not Lange & Söhne.

If there is one complication that Cartier hasn't used very often throughout its history, it is the moon phase. With the new Drive de Cartier Moon Phases it returns in a very classic and masculine way.

The SIHH gives you the opportunity to see and handle some of the most amazing new watches. All those masterpieces available at a single venue is exhilarating yet also hard work, especially for Haute Time's photographer Alex Teuscher. Light conditions are always challenging at a fair, and there is a constant pressure to finish up in time make it to the next appointment. Simultaneously it is also important to respect the subject and photograph it in an environment that it suits. In the digital age, you can, fortunately, see very quickly if you are on point, and very little things are as gratifying as ending a long yet exciting day, seeing that the fruit of your work is actually looking pretty awesome!

By Martin Green Ever since its introduction in 2008, the Fine Watchmaking Collection has been Cartier's calling card when it comes to complicated pieces. Many of them unique and never done before. For the SIHH 2017 Cartier is expanding the collection with new models, as well as some varieties of existing models. It is not a surprise that many of them are focussed on the brand's unique, mysterious movement, that has become one of the pillars of the Fine Watchmaking Collection.

With a return of the Geophysic into the collection, Jaeger-LeCoultre revived in 2014 one of the favorite classic models from the 1950's. For the upcoming SIHH, they step it up with the introduction of the tourbillon version of the Universal Time.

The SIHH is always a place where you can count on your senses being tantalized by the most extraordinary watches. The 2016 edition did not disappoint, showing a vast array of everything from Grande Complications to ultra-thin time only watches, and all things in between.
