After Part I of Haute Time's Favorite Baselworld Watches, there are still a few new watches that we would like to highlight, as they made strong entries to our wishlists, and perhaps those of yours as well.

SIHH 2018: Vacheron Constantin’s New Masterpieces!

Vacheron Constantin is not just releasing just a few new models this edition of the SIHH, but an entire array of complicated masterpieces! It starts with a whole new collection, the FIFTYSIX, which is inspired on Vacheron Constantin's reference 6073, which the brand launched in 1956. Elegant yet masculine lines envoke the style of this era, and transform it into the 21st century. The FIFTYSIX will be available in three different varieties, a date model, one featuring day of the week, date, power-reserve indicator, and the final version features a complete calendar with precision moon phase.

Haute Time’s Favorite Hublots Of 2017

Surprised that you missed a Hublot in our line-up of our favorite new watches of 2017? Well, it is not that we didn't have any, it was more the case that we had too many! Many brands only focus on the big watch fairs early in the year to release their novelties, but for Hublot, innovation is a constant factor, so they do it throughout the year. 2017 was once more an exceptional year for Hublot, so after a long debate, these are our favorites!

Haute Time’s Favorite Watches Of 2017 Part II

2017 was a good year when it comes to watches. As we already discovered a few of Haute Time's favorite watches of this year in Part I, there were simply too many to put all in one article. That's, why in part II we showcase a few other favorites that have been released this year!

Haute Complication: Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Reference 5327

It doesn't happen every day that Patek Philippe introduces a new Perpetual Calendar, but in 2016 it added reference 5327 to its collection. It was set to replace reference 5140 (of which the platinum cased version remains in production) with whom it shares its movement.

Haute Complication: Hublot Big Bang Unico Perpetual Calendar

The perpetual calendar is one of those coveted complications by watch connoisseurs. It is the technical complexity of having a watch that always displays the correct date, and can even deal with leap years, that brings quite some appeal to the table. Not every watch brand can make this complication, and when they do, more often than not they can be found in very classic styled watches. Not Hublot, who made the perpetual calendar part of their legendary Big Bang collection!

The Surprising, Record-Breaking Results Of The ONLY WATCH Auction 2017

This Saturday evening, Christie's in Geneva was the stage for ONLY WATCH 2017, a charity auction in which the proceeds are being used to help find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Watch brands donate unique watches to the auction, giving collectors and connoisseurs the opportunity to own a truly unique watch. While all watches did well, some did a bit better than others!

Patek Philippe Ref. 3450/1: The Charm Of The Integrated Bracelet

You like it, or you don't: an integrated bracelet on a watch. Unable to detach, it defines the look of the watch, for better or for worse. In case of this Patek Philippe Ref.3450/1, it is the first, adding to the character of this imposing watch.

A Stunning Pioneer: Patek Philippe Ref. 1518 Perpetual Calendar Chronograph

In 1941 the world was in the midst of WWII, yet this was also the time that Patek Philippe introduced a landmark watch, the ref.1518. This was not only Patek Philippe's very first watch that united both a perpetual calendar with a chronograph, but also the very first time that such a watch was made in series.

Haute Time’s Favorite Top Four Patek Philippes

When it comes to Patek Philippe, there is a lot to love. They represent the nec plus ultra of the Haute Horlogerie and combine this with an extensive collection that has everything from exquisite complications to robust and iconic sports watches. Choosing four of our favorites is not easy, hardly decisive, but at least fun to try!

Dates On Dress watches: What Date Suits You?

Dress watches and date functions are not always the best of friends, but can be pulled off with a good design. We check out the various options to do this.

Haute Complication: Glashütte Original Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar

"Gründlichkeit" is a German word that can be translated as thoroughness. It is also one of the first words that come to mind when you examine the new Glashütte Original Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar.

A. Lange & Söhne “Pour le Mérite”: A Legacy of Excellence

Being the nec plus ultra of the brand, the "Pour le Mérite" by A. Lange & Söhne are not created to make sense, but make excellence!

Haute Time’s Favorite Baselworld Watches: Part I

One way of sparking passionate debates in Haute Time's editorial department is to ask about putting together a list of the ten favorite watches from Baselworld. Some make a convincing case for the latest triple-axis tourbillon, while another thinks that a top ten is not complete without that gorgeous time-only. As personal and arbitrary as these lists are, they do give a good indication on where the watch world is currently standing, and which new watches made the biggest impressions.

#ThrowbackThursday: Patek Philippe reference 3974

One of my all-time personal favorites from Patek Philippe is reference 3974. When this watch was launched in 1989, it was the most complicated wrist watch in the world.

Haute Complication: Chopard L.U.C. Perpetual Chrono

For watch connoisseurs in general, and Chopard enthusiasts especially, the letters L.U.C. hold something special. Representing the initials of the brand's founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard, they are only used for watches that feature a manufacture movement. Ever since Chopard introduced their very first manufacture caliber in 1996, they have become quite a force in watchmaking, and the L.U.C. Perpetual Chrono is one of their most tempting offerings.

Haute Complication: MB&F Legacy Machine Perpetual

In the world of Haute Horlogerie Maximilian Büsser, Max for friends, is a force of his own. For the Legacy Machine Perpetual, he joined forces with independent watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, and the result is a perpetual calender unlike any other!
