The Senator-collection of Glashütte Original is a line of refined classic timepieces, proud of its German pedigree. Made in the small town of Glashütte, near the historic city of Dresden, they represent in many ways the best that the brand has to offer. While this includes complicated pieces such as a perpetual calendar and tourbillon, it is the chronograph that sets the pace.

When it comes to dial colors, decades were ruled by black and silver as the most popular choices. They still rule supreme, but now need to give a bit of space to other colors as well. Blue has become a staple in more recent years, but grey and brown tones are getting more popular as well. Green might seem like a more extreme color, but also this one seems to be here to stay. While it will probably never dethrone black and silver, these four watches are bound to make anybody who sees you wear them, green with envy!

As so many other industries do, does also the watch industry have trends. In terms of colors black, silver and white rule supreme, with a strong position for blue as well. Green, however, is definitely up and coming, taking a more prominent place among the collections of a wide variety of brands. It might be the color, but this almost always results in very charismatic creations of which these four will make quite a few people also green with envy if you are wearing one!

Baselworld 2018 was a blast, with strong new additions to the collections across all brands. While this is great news for the industry, and watch collectors and connoisseurs, it does make it quite difficult for us to pick out our favourites, but here it goes!

By the time you read this Baselworld is coming to an end. One of the main things to take from the fair is that the watch industry is recovering. We have seen a lot of great watches, across all the brands, and many of them are offered at price points that make sense in today's market. While we go more in-depth on the novelties in the upcoming weeks, here is a short preview of some of the watches we saw at Haute Time's last day at Baselworld!

When it comes to watches from Glashütte, the vast majority of them are either classical pieces in precious metal cases or Bauhaus-inspired designs. In this, the steel Senator Chronograph Panorama Date by Glashütte Original stands apart in more than one way.
