On Saturday, September 29 Hubot’s auctioned off twelve one-of-a-kind King Power WBC watches to benefit the charities of the World Boxing Council. Prior to the event, luxury auction house Bonhams announced that the unique timepieces, each bearing the signature of one of twelve living boxing legends were expected to fetch between $60,000-100,000 each. The auction, which took place at the famed Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, was attended by WBC president Jose Sulaiman and Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe. Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ‘Paul Newman’ Goes for HK$375,000 at Auction

Bonhams’ May 26 auction in Hong Kong saw a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ‘Paul Newman’ model go for HK$375,000. The timepiece, a true collector’s item, dates back to 1964 and is complete with square markers on the subsidiary dials. The ‘Paul Newman’ moniker began in 1969 when the namesake actor wore the Daytona in his film Winning, and it became a staple on his wrist thereafter. For this reason the Daytona, still manufactured by Rolex and well regarded amongst timepiece lovers, is most sought after in its vintage form.
