The annual Oscars Greenroom hosted by Rolex has officially returned. As the official timekeeper of the Academy Awards since 2017, Rolex curates the Oscars Greenroom, presenting new design themes each year, as an immersive, luxury private oasis for nominees and presenters during the Academy Awards ceremony.

This year’s Greenroom embodies the color green and the significance it carries. “More than a mere tribute to the chromatic identity of the brand, it is a celebration of our natural world. It is a way for Rolex to poetically express its commitment to the preservation of our ecosystems as part of its Perpetual Planet Initiative,” notes Rolex in its brand notes.

An initiative that is dedicated to Rolex’s commitment to the planet Earth, the Perpetual Planet Initiative is built on three pillars: the Rolex Awards for Enterprise and long-standing partners Mission Blue and the National Geographic Society. Since its launch, the initiative has continued to grow and today includes more than 20 partners that share the same commitment to protecting the Earth and its wonders.

Inside the Greenroom, one is instantly immersed into Rolex’s interpretation of the color, where guests are greeted with a zen garden of neutral tones and greens. Drawing inspiration from the heart of the rainforest, it is adorned with woven materials and features a ceiling of exotic leaves, creating a lush canopy. The space was designed with sustainability-sourced materials like fibers, ceramic, and glass, adhering to the larger inspiration of the 2023 Rolex Oscars Greenroom.

Throughout the space, timepieces can be found on display, like the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36, a watch that is a true testament to the brand’s craftsmanship as it was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date in a window at 3 o’clock on the dial.

The Rolex brand is synonymous with discovery and exploration through protecting and admiring our planet; thus, this year’s Greenroom embodies that same sentiment on a special evening in Hollywood.
