Last week, IWC Schaffhausen released its latest addition to the legendary Pilot’s Watch Collection: Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41mm in bronze. The new timepiece features a case, pushers, and crown made of a bespoke bronze complimented with a rich, deep blue dial and strap — ultimately making for the perfect summer timepiece.

IWC intentionally designed this timepiece with a bronze containing aluminum and iron, which makes the alloy about 50% harder than the standard bronze and has exceptional biocompatibility. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of IWC using bronze is that it is one-of-a-kind wear; the bronze develops a unique patina over time, giving each timepiece a distinct character and look of its own.

Also, the chronograph is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre, and has a bi-directional pawl winding system that builds up a power reserve of up to 46 hours in the mainspring.

As the latest member of the Pilot Watch collection, the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41mm in bronze ensures that each wearer has an evolving experience with the watch as the bronze elegantly ages with the wearer — only getting better with time.
