Last month in Dubai, Swiss luxury watch maker IWC Schaffhausen hosted an exclusive watchmaking class for its most devoted collectors. The event offered VIPs an exciting glimpse into the world of haute horlogerie with legendary IWC watchmaker Kurt Klaus. The event was held to commemorate the launch of the brand’s new Pilot’s watch collection at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva in January.
Kurt Klaus has spent over 5 decades at IWC and has played a substantial role in some key developments and innovations in the luxury watch world. He is best known for creating the perpetual calendar. Even after retiring from watchmaking, he continues his involvement with IWC as a brand ambassador, media spokesman and watchmaking instructor.
