Haute Time Visits Blancpain Boutique in New York

Last week Haute Time had the chance to visit the Blancpain Boutique on Madison Avenue in New York City. Nestled in the heart of the haute horlogerie shops on the city’s most famous shopping street, the boutique housed some amazing novelties.

We’ve brought you an exclusive look at a few of our favorites:

The Minute Repeater Carrousel features an amazing cathedral gong in a 45mm red gold case.

The dial is white grand feu enamel, while at its heart is a secured Caliber 235. This movement boasts a 65 hour power reserve.

The Chronograph Grande Date is a ladies’ watch featuring a 38.6mm case set with 40 diamonds. The two-part mother-of-pearl dial is delineated by two waves of diamonds.

The dial features an off-centred hour and minute subdial at 12 o’clock, chronograph counter and a double-disc large date display which appears through twin apertures at 6 o’clock.

The Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe features an ultra-modern calibre, but its style echoes the original 1950s diver’s watches used by underwater explorers like Jacques Piccard. The hands feature the traditional look of the vintage watches and the date appears through a dedicated aperture.

Another tribute to the original Bathyscaphe is the luminescent dot on the bezel, which serves to ensure the permanent readability of diving times.

The Villeret 8 Day Complete Calendar is a serious piece for classic watch collectors. The 42mm case is in red 18K red gold, with an opalin dial and under-lug correctors.

The Villeret 8 Day Complete Calendar features moon phases, calendar and small seconds.

The Carrousel “Volant Une Minute” features a semi-skeletonised dial.

This self-winding watch, which has a 43.5mm platinum case, features a power reserve indicator, date and seconds, and under-lug correctors.

We also had the chance to see the Villeret Half-Hunter Pocket-Watch. Although we undoubtedly love wristwatches, there is something very elegant about a pocket watch!

This piece features small seconds, a white grand feu enamelled cambered dial, and a hand-winding caliber 151B. The 44.55mm case is in red gold.
