The unstoppable force of the traditional watchmaking world, Cartier has been enjoying strong results even as competitors grapple with the impact of global conflict, economic uncertainty, and volatile political conditions across key markets. In the second quarter of 2026, the powerhouse helped propel its parent company, Richemont, to a forecast-beating 14% increase in sales.

This momentum has continued through a leadership transition. Former CEO Cyrille Vigneron, who elevated Cartier into the second-highest-grossing Swiss watch brand, now serves as Chairman of Cartier Culture & Philanthropy. He is succeeded by Louis Ferla, who took the helm in September 2024 after orchestrating the emphatic resurgence of Vacheron Constantin.

It bears repeating that few maisons can draw on a legacy as deep. Over 179 years, Cartier has weathered world wars, ownership changes, shifting tastes, and the quartz crisis, emerging with a vast archive of designs that continue to resonate when reissued today.

Perhaps the clearest measure of Cartier’s success lies in its broad cultural appeal. Cartier speaks to collectors across generations, from Gen Z to seasoned tastemakers such as Auro Montanari, while maintaining accessibility through a wide spectrum of price points, as you will see among the novelties below. In doing so, the maison has not only secured its relevance, but cemented its role in shaping (pun intended) contemporary style.

Cartier Roadster

Watches & Wonders 2026 was abuzz with the return of the Roadster, a speedometer-inspired icon first launched in 2002, distinguished by its integrated, headlight-shaped crown that flows into a date magnifier on the crystal.

Seven new references are introduced across two case sizes—38mm and 34.9mm—in steel, gold, or a combination of both. The 38mm models are powered by the self-winding 1847 MC caliber, while the 34.9mm versions use the 1899 MC. All variants feature Cartier’s QuickSwitch system for easy interchangeability between bracelets and straps.

Prices range from US$9,300 for the 34.9mm steel model to US$57,000 for the 38mm gold version.

Cartier Tortue

The revival of the Tortue also drew considerable attention. First created by Louis Cartier in 1912, the turtle-inspired silhouette returns in yellow gold, diamond-set white gold, and diamond-set rose gold executions.

The collection is offered in 20.9mm and 26.7mm case sizes, with prices starting from US$13,900. A 33mm platinum “evening version” adds further brilliance with a full diamond setting, while two 34.8mm Panthère Métiers d’Art editions in white and yellow gold showcase Cartier’s mastery of champlevé enamel and gem-setting.

Cartier Baignoire

Cartier’s highly coveted “Bathtub” watch is reinterpreted through a striking Clous de Paris treatment, which extends from the dial across the case and bracelet in two 19.3mm yellow-gold quartz models.

A fully diamond-set version elevates the design further, featuring 100 diamonds on the dial and an additional 171 stones across the case and bracelet.

Cartier Privé

Cartier Privé, the maison’s platform for reimagining archival icons, marked its 10th Opus (Cartier’s lingo for “anniversary”) with a platinum trilogy comprising the Tank Normale, Tortue Chronographe Monopoussoir, and Crash Squelette.

Myst de Cartier

A sculptural jewelry watch inspired by designs associated with Jeanne Toussaint in the early 1930s, the 15.4mm Myst de Cartier is offered in yellow and white gold versions.

Both are heavily set with brilliant-cut diamonds, with the latter presenting an even more extravagant fully pavé execution. Instead of a conventional clasp, the articulated bracelet expands and contracts via an elastic internal structure, allowing the piece to slip seamlessly onto the wrist.

Prices have yet to be confirmed.

Cartier Santos-Dumont

Alongside the Tank, the Santos and Santos-Dumont are Cartier’s most popular designs. At Watches and Wonders 2026, the Santos-Dumont returned in a 31.5mm case size across three variants: yellow gold with silver dial, platinum with silver dial, and yellow gold with black dial.

The most significant evolution lies in its new bracelet. Neither beads-of-rice nor Milanese in character, the design reflects Cartier’s jewelry savoir-faire through a finely engineered construction of 394 links across 15 rows, measuring just 1.15mm in thickness.
