Chopard has released a new special edition of their classic race-inspired Mille Miglia Chronograph. This beautiful timepiece draws its inspiration from the yearly 1,000 mile Mille Miglia competition featuring collector automobiles touring from Brescia to Rome and back.

The touring event draws its heritage from an endurance race that ran through Italy until 1957, and is known as the most beautiful race in the world.

Well equipped for high speed competition, the chronograph features oversized counters for easy reading. The layout of the face is inspired by the instrument panel of a race car with the secondary hands at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions.

The seconds hand is tipped with the red arrow that has become the hallmark of the collection and a white tipped hand indicates GMT time on the bezel. Accented with a band drawing its look from 1960’s vintage Dunlop racing tires, the timepiece comes in two editions apportioned with either polished steel or rose gold.

Both are limited editions—the steel version will have a production run of 2,012 watches and the rose gold version will be limited to 250 units making both true collectible works. The nameplate on the back commemorates this handsome limited edition.
