The Short Answer

Three celebrity ambassadors, Michael B. Jordan, Rafael Nadal, and Eddie Redmayne show off their style with a trio of high performance watches from Piaget, Richard Mille and Omega...

Ultra thin, ultra light, ultra anti-magnetic: three ultra performance timepieces from Piaget, Richard Mille and Omega have linked their names with ultra performers Michael B. Jordan, Rafael Nadal and Eddie Redmayne, whose distinct styles are as unique as the watches they wear.

Michael B. Jordan at Piaget

Dressed by Piaget since his role in “Fruitvale Station” for festivals and ceremonies that include the Academy, Golden Globe and Film Independent Spirit Awards, it was only natural for Michael B. Jordan to stop and visit the haute watchmaker on his way back from the Dubai Film Festival after attending the première of “Creed”.  Mr. Jordan, with celebrity stylist Jeff Kim, was given a VIP tour of the Côte-aux-Fées movements manufacture followed by a visit of the case-making, assembly, and gem-setting site in Plan-les-Ouates.  Sporting a Piaget 40mm platinum Altiplano on his wrist, Mr. Jordan also owns a Piaget Polo FortyFive.  Supporting the cinematic arts and outstanding performers like Michael B. Jordan correspond to Piaget’s own core values.

Between Richard Mille and Rafael Nadal, their mutual respect, recognition and visible complicity during press conferences is motivated by an uncompromising will to improve performances both in the manufacture and on the tennis courts.  From the first RM 027 in 2010 they have continued to develop timepieces made to resist tough play on the courts while remaining ultra light.  Mr. Nadal wore the result of their latest collaboration – the RM27-02 Tourbillon Rafael Nadal, while playing at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open last week, as he has during all his matches since the timepiece was revealed in Paris last summer during Roland Garros.

As for new Omega ambassador Eddie Redmayne, the Golden Globes 2016 showed him wearing the very first Master Chronometer in the world: the Globemaster Omega co-axial Master Chronometer from the Constellation collection. This new timepiece boasts an anti-magnetic resistance of 15000 gauss, far above the 1000 G on other anti-magnetic watches currently in the market, for enhanced anti-magnetic resistance and reliability. With certification from the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) following that of COSC, the Globemaster houses the brand’s most advanced mechanical movement to date, and matches perfectly the very formal style of the Academy Award winning actor.
