The Short Answer

Boasting a total of 13.36 carats of diamonds, this timepiece captures the beauty of a flower's petals in the wind...

For this weekend’s edition of Haute Woman, we’re taking a close up look at the Breguet Petite Fleur High Jewelry watch. Part of the manufacture’s high jewelry collection, this diamond-clad timepiece captures the natural beauty – and movement – of a flower.

B-26

The Petite Fleur High Jewelry begins with a round, fittingly delicate 17mm case in 18K yellow gold. Unlike traditional static diamond settings, the case of the Petite Fleur High Jewelry features 43 baguette diamonds in mobile settings, which undulate in an incredible facsimile of a flower’s petals in the wind.

The diamonds don’t stop there; the flange of the Petite Fleur High Jewelry features 48 inverted-set brilliant-cut diamonds, while the 18K gold dial is frosted with a further 141 diamonds.

The Calibre 586, a self-winding movement, powers this timepiece. Numbered and signed ‘Breguet,’ this movement features 29 jewels, an annular balance wheel, a Swiss straight-line lever escapement, and a flat silicon balance-spring. It works at a frequency of 3Hz and boasts a 38-hour power reserve.

Functions include hours and minutes, indicated on the dished dial by curved, open-tipped Breguet hands.

A white satin strap completes the Petite Fleur High Jewelry. A folding buckle on the strap paved with 26 diamonds brings this model to a total of approximately 13.36 carats.
