The Short Answer

Haute Jet brings us the hottest jet of the week. Today we’re taking a look at the G450 by Gulfstream...

For this week’s edition of Haute Jet we’re taking a look at the Gulfstream G450®. A direct descendent of the storied GIV®-series aircraft (the best-selling business jet in the world), this jet has a large cabin and an ultra-long range.

The G450 can reach a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.88 and carry a team of eight up to 4,350 nautical miles (8,056 km) at its normal cruise speed of Mach 0.80. With its intercontinental range, the G450 easily links Dallas with Paris.

If you’re flying out from your chalet in the Alps, this is the perfect jet, as high altitudes do not faze this aircraft. A G450 can depart a high-altitude airport like the Centennial in Denver and still touch down just over seven hours later at Honolulu Airport on Oahu. (The G450 actually did do that, setting a new city-pair speed record.)

When you’re buying a G450, you can choose from six Select Interior Configurations to personalize the cabin. The cabin accommodates up to 16 passengers, with berthing for 6.

The G450’s PlaneView® cockpit is considered to be the most advanced flight deck in business aviation, with 14-inch (36 cm) liquid crystal display screens arranged in a landscape format and an Enhanced Vision System™ to present pilots with a clear picture of runway markings, taxiways and the surrounding landscape at night or in deteriorating weather conditions. Gulfstream also offers the Synthetic Vision – Primary Flight Display as an option to increase the level of safety.
