We're taking a close up look at Corum's new high jewelry take on the iconic Admiral’s Cup Legend 38...

The Admiral’s Cup Legend 38 Diamonds Are Forever timepieces boasts a floral inspiration, with pure gemstones laid according to their size, cut and color. According to the manufacture, the work on the stones could only begin once the dial, bezel, case, oscillating weight, bracelet and buckle were put into place. According to the manufacture, setting the 462 stones composing the floral motif on the invisible-setting dial was the most complex operation. In order to ensure that the smaller stones (the dial alone features seven different sizes) not be broken when a notch was cut into the gem to accommodate its seating, the manufacture fitted the dial upside down on a transparent plate before meticulously pouring a silver-based alloy over the structure. The alloy seeped into the gaps between the stones, thereby holding together the 24 baguette-cut purple sapphires (approx. 2.04 cts), 138 baguette-cut diamonds (approx. 3.11 cts), 108 baguette-cut pink sapphires (approx. 1.67 cts) and 198 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0.25 cts) on the dial. The transparent backing was put into place and then the plate was fitted onto the white gold dial.
