The Haute Minute

Replacing the Tonda GT line, the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph modernizes and refreshes the case, dial, and bracelet.

Parmigiani Fleurier has once again blurred the boundaries between functionality and craftsmanship with the introduction of the Tonda PF Sport 2024 Collection. Inspired by the beauty of nature, this collection reflects the hues of Milano Blue, Arctic Grey, and London Grey, capturing the essence of minimalist luxury that Guido Terreni, CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier, describes as “embodying a touch of elegance to life’s carefree moments.”

At the heart of this collection is the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph, a timepiece that perfectly balances the dual demands of sporting functionality and refined elegance. Designed for purists who appreciate the subtleties of luxury, this chronograph is adorned with fresh, refined colors and compelling contrasts between its dials, counters, and bracelets.

The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph is a visual and technical marvel. Its guilloché dial features the “clou triangulaire” pattern, which captures and plays with light to stunning effect. This intricate detailing is complemented by color-matched timer flanges and counters. The signature knurled bezel, a hallmark of Parmigiani Fleurier, is enhanced with more pronounced notches, lending the watch a sportier feel while maintaining an elegant aesthetic.

The bracelet of the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph reflects the sartorial spirit of Parmigiani Fleurier, with a sophisticated texture that mimics a textile finish and a seam inspired by artisan saddle-stitching. This attention to detail extends to the watch’s form and function, making it not only a beautiful accessory but also a technical powerhouse.

Inside, the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph is powered by a high-frequency (5 Hz) manufacture movement with an integrated chronograph. COSC-certified and offering a 65-hour power reserve, this movement ensures precise timekeeping and reliability. The skeletonized oscillating weight, designed specifically for this line, evokes the steering wheel of the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO, further enhancing its sporty yet elegant appeal.

Replacing the Tonda GT line, the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph modernizes and refreshes the case, dial, and bracelet in line with the aesthetic codes introduced with the first “PF” models in 2021. The removal of the large date from the chronograph dial allows for a cleaner look, with more space for the PF logo and shortened indexes. The smaller flange leaves room for the subtle, re-sized “clou triangulaire” guilloché, maintaining the sporty look with black Luminova and contrasting counters.
