Grand Seiko has unveiled another timepiece that foreshadows the coming of winter: the "Snowflake" SBGX353.
On the heels of its recent launch of the SLGH013, which mimics the melting snow of Mt. Iwate, Grand Seiko has unveiled another timepiece that foreshadows the coming of winter: the “Snowflake” SBGX353. As the latest addition to the Grand Seiko Elegance Collection, the new timepiece features a quartz blue dial inspired by the carved snow that accumulates in the mountains of Shinshu in central Japan. The watch’s design is yet another testament to Grand Seiko’s unwavering inspiration in the beauty of Japanese nature, which transcends beyond the design, evoking a sense of serenity.

While the textured pale blue “Snowflake” dial is clean and simple, it is also a striking hue, immediately drawing your attention to the epicenter of the timepiece. Fitted with a luxurious navy blue leather strap, the SBGX353 is undeniably a modern minimalist.
Up close, the watch is equipped with the advanced 9F quartz caliber delivering a high precision rate of 10 seconds per year. The long minute and seconds hands reach right to the minute track to ensure that the time can be read exactly, and the indexes are five-faceted and diamond-cut so that they stand out clearly from the dial for legibility as the 12 o’clock marker is distinct in design so that, whatever the viewing angle, the time is easily read at a glance.
