Manufacture Contemporaine Du Temps will unveil the F110 watch at Baselworld, inaugurating the Frequential Collection in the same breath. If SIHH hinted at the comeback of classic cushion-shaped watches with the vintage-inspired Harmony collection from Vacheron Constantin a good example, Manufacture Contemporaine Du Temps can boast about spearheaded that trend since 2009 when it comes to modern timepieces.

Do not let its classic form betray you though. The F110, announced earlier today, undoes the chains of traditional watchmaking and brings together high-tech materials and daring assembly. Crafted from Titanium Grade 5 with DLC treatment, the F110 features hours, minutes and a power reserve function at 12 o’clock. However, the centerpiece of the watch is the balance wheel that stares down the middle of the watch, locking eyes with anyone who comes across it.

Hours and minute hands swoop around it, inside the perfectly balanced 42 x 42mm case, which features various layers of titanium, and a shimmering Côtes de Genève motif that hints briefly at the watchmaker’s traditional spirit.

The watch is powered by a new caliber, the MCT-F1.0 manual hand-winding movement developed and assembled by MCT. Beating at a frequency of 18,000 A/h (2.5 Hz), it is beautiful to look at through the shapphire caseback, and is adorned with Côtes de Genève decorations.
