The Time Has Come: Breguet Store To Open In Bal Harbour

“Breguet evokes a genuine fascination through its capacity for innovation. The philosophy is entirely in tune with my vision of fine watchmaking: its ability to push the boundaries of horological construction, blending aesthetics with mechanical constraints, makes it a full-fledged art in its own right.” –Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Montres Breguet SA

The Haute Minute

“Breguet evokes a genuine fascination through its capacity for innovation.

What makes Breguet an iconic brand, according to Michael Nelson, the Brand President in North America, is the “incredible design and unmatched craftsmanship” in each piece. Breguet recently opened the doors to its 4th US boutique in Bal Harbour, making this the 3rd store opening in just one year. Breguet’s presence in Bal Harbour is only natural, seeing as how the mall’s expertly curated selection of shops coincides with Breguet’s standard of excellence. “If you’re in Bal Harbour, you are a serious player in luxury goods,” said Nelson, as he gave us a tour of the new Bal Harbour outpost, one that the brand anticipates to be the most profitable per-square-foot.

And with that, Nelson shares that “the beauty of it all, is that there is something for everyone.” But with Breguet’s wide variety of timepieces, choosing just one can be rather challenging. Nelson walks us through the process: “It all starts with choosing the look. Do you want a big watch, [something] masculine [or one that is] thin and classic? We can direct you to either one. And if price is no object, we find the one that fits you perfectly, and the one that you’ll fall in love with. Every one of the models we make has a Breguet movement inside, which is second to none. Every one is finished to the highest standards in the industry, and [with that], every one carries the history of Breguet with it. Then it really just comes down to taste.”

While Nelson wears Breguet’s La Tradition timepiece himself, he says there are plenty of options for the ladies; “for women, you can go crazy, like the Queen of Naples with diamonds.” This particular watch retails for over $30,000.
