Never mind snow. All we want for Christmas this year is some ice. Not the kind you can slip on. No, we’re talking about the ice that has formed all over the 272 pages of Graff’s latest coffee table book.
This winter, get comfy in front of the fire and discover the story of Laurence Graff, the self-taught gemologist who captured the imagination of the world’s elite by creating legendary jewels of breathtaking scale.
“With his singular passion for gemstones and a unique genius for business, Laurence Graff has journeyed from London’s East End to a place on the world’s stage alongside kings, presidents, and cultural icons,” says Vivienne Becker, who lends her writing to the book.
Thanks to early photos from his personal archives, follow Graff from his family’s beginnings in London, to his apprenticeship in Hatton Garden, and the genesis of the eponymous brand he founded aged only twenty-two.
Beautifully illustrated, this book contains some of the most mesmerising jewels in the world, including famed stones such as the 603-carat Lesotho Promise, which Graff famously cut into a necklace of 26 perfect stones.
At his request, all proceeds from the sale of the coffee table book will be donated to Graff’s charitable foundation, FACET, which supports the education, health and well-being of the people of sub-Saharan Africa from where Graff sources many of its beautiful stones.
