Luxury watchmaker Vacheron Constantin recently sponsored New York City Ballet’s 2013 Spring Gala. On May 8th, the manufacture helped the iconic ballet company mark the 25th anniversary of their American Music Festival with a special performance at the Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch theater.

Hugues de Pins, the President of Vacheron Constantin North America, served as the evening’s Corporate Chairman, and was joined by Gala Chairmen Randy and Jay Fishman, Whitney and Clarke Murphy, and Betsy and Bob Pitts. Guests included Fe Fendi, Valentino Garavani, Andre Previn, Leslie Stahl, Anh Duong, and Joseph Altuzzara.

The Spring Gala began with a private reception hosted by Vacheron Constantin on the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater. Highlights of the performances include a pas de deux by Christopher Wheeldon (accompanied by world-renowned clarinetist Richard Stoltzman), the premiere of Wheeldon’s Soiree Musicale, and excerpts from George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes, as well as Jerome Robbins’ West Side Story Suite and Glass Pieces. There was also a guest appearance by Queen Latifah, who sang The Man I Love as part of an excerpt of George Balanchine’s Who Cares?

After the performances, 1,100 guests enjoyed a dinner by NYCB’s Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins, followed by dancing under candlelight on the Koch Theater’s Promenade. Sixteen principal and solo dancers from New York City Ballet wore Vacheron Constantin timepieces at the dinner.

Hugues de Pins, the President of Vacheron Constantin North America, told us; “Vacheron Constantin is proud to sponsor New York City Ballet’s Spring Gala for the first time this year. We look forward to sponsoring this very special occasion for many years to come. Supporting the performing arts is an important value for our Maison and New York City Ballet’s commitment to excellence and creativity perfectly aligns with Vacheron Constantin’s core values.”
