Exceptional German sports cars will barrel front and central at this year’s exclusive The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during the Monterey Car Week.
To take place at the end of August, the 16th installment of the signature event will feature over 200 of the world’s finest and rarest vehicles. Two special collections will inadvertently elicit appreciation – “70 Years of Iconic Porsche 356” and “The Alois Ruf Reunion.” The former is to celebrate the legacy of Porsche’s first line of sports cars, while the latter is to display the mastery behind the famed Ruf. Traditional classes like racing cars, supercars, Ferraris as well as pre-war sports vehicles will also roll on the lush grounds of the Quail Lodge & Golf Club.
“Each year, The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering offers a one-of-a-kind experience to passionate enthusiasts from around the globe,” said Gordon McCall, Director of Motorsports for The Peninsula Signature Events, the event organizer. “Our 2018 featured Porsche and Ruf classes will be the perfect additions to our internationally-acclaimed lineup of sports and racing motorcars, creating one of the best shows in our history to date.”
Those who wish will be able to rave the cars on local roads, immersing in the unforgettable experience of driving top-performing, luxury cars. Meanwhile, guests looking for a thrill will be able to test their skills on the Land Rover Experience Driving School of-road track.
While the astounding cars will, without a question, roar at the fore of attention, select wines, cocktails and delectable dishes from six international culinary pavilions will contribute to the exclusive, family-friendly ambience. Away from the garden-party setting of the main exhibit, guests will also enjoy the opportunity to attend the Bonhams Quail Lodge Auction, which is to transpire concurrently on the Quail Lodge Farm Field.
