The new Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster is the latest addition to the AMG GT group, and both its design and technology continue to bring appeal to the growing class. Like other AMG GT roadster family members, the triple-layer soft-top model offers an open-air driving experience with a powerful drive and embodies the company’s continual pledge of Driving Performance.

The expressive GT R Roadster is paving its way into a new lifestyle-focused market looking for a top of the line driving experience. The model’s 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo delivers an output of 577 with a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft over a range varying from 2100 to 5500 rpm. The highly efficient power unit reaches 60mph in a thrilling 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 197mph.

The model’s low-slung front is designed to make it appear to be sitting lower on the road. It also features AMG GT signature LED High-Performance headlights and a V-shaped front which enhances its dynamic appearance and gives the look of forward motion, even at standstill. The back design is about 2.2 inches wider than models such as the AMG GT with 20-inch wheels that allow for better traction and higher cornering speeds.

“With our GT R Roadster, we have without a doubt once again developed a brand-defining sports car. It too embodies Mercedes-AMG in form, function and vehicle dynamics and enriches our GT family with a highly exclusive variant limited to 750 units,” said Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
