Swatch Watch Collection Sells For Over $6 Million

A collection of 4,363 Swatch watches from over the years sold in Hong Kong recently for $6,650,00. Swiss businessman Peter Blum and his wife Linda put together prototypes, hybrids and production variants never brought to market to create one one of the most complete collections of Swatch watches ever. This includes the rare first Swatch watches from the early 1980s and sought-after prototypes designed by the American artist Keith Haring, as well as the artist’s legendary Swatch watches Modele avec Personnage, Milles Pattes, Serpent and Blanc sur Noir. Other rare pieces in the collection included Swatch watches created by artists Mimmo Paladino, Alfred Hofkunst and Sam Francis.

This one of a kind auction was conducted by Phillips de Pury & Company at The Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong attracted lots of attention during pre-sale showings in New York, London and Shanghai, where it was exhibited at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel.
