Rolex and Sir Jackie Stewart Celebrate Long History in Formula One

Rolex devotee and three-time FIA Formula One Driver’s World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first ever Grand Prix de Monaco victory at the Circuit de Monaco in 1966, while racing for British Racing Motors in the BRM P261. The legendary driver would go on to to become the Formula One Driver’s World Champion in 1969, 1971 and 1973, winning 27 of his 99 F1 Grand Prix races.  His success would allow him to become an emblematic figure in motorsport.

During his strings of wins in the late 60’s, Rolex forged an esteemed relationship with Sir Jackie Stewart. His passion and racing expertise makes him a natural fit with the watch brand. Rolex has served as the global partner and official timepiece of Formula One since 2013, sponsoring leading sports series and individuals has become a vital part of the brand’s values.
