The tale of King Arthur and his legendary knights has captivated generations and was, for Roger Dubuis, the inspiration to create the Knights of the Round Table. The watches in this collection are quite unique, as Roger Dubuis took an artistic approach, in which they combine craftsmanship with the use of disruptive materials.

For this story, the brand is now introducing a new chapter. Again, twelve knights, micro-sculpted by hand, mark the hours. They do so on a dynamically shaped dial, in which the hands are raised from the center. The dial itself is a combination of white gold, dark grey enamel, and Murano glass. This creates a visually delightful and dynamic surrounding for the historic knights to reside in. The new material Roger Dubuis adopted for the case perfectly matches this scene. For this, they reinvented the ancient art of Damascus steel, in which layers of metal are welded in intricate patterns through a very labor-intensive process. Instead of steel, Roger Dubuis used titanium. This results in a high-tech material that honors ancient craftsmanship and perfectly fits the theme as Damascus steel was highly prized in the past and used to make swords and daggers. In this Roger Dubuis, the material not only looks great but also adds to the wearing comfort, as it is 30% lighter than steel, which makes quite a difference in the weight of the 45mm large case.

Roger Dubuis also doesn’t make any concessions to the movement, as this version of the Knights of the Round Table is fitted with caliber RD821. This automatic movement is made in the manufacture of the brand in Geneva, where each of its 172 parts is finished to perfection. As a testimony to this, it is also certified with the prestigious Geneva Seal. Typically, watches of this caliber are fitted with straps made of exotic leather. Roger Dubuis, fortunately, resisted the temptation to do so and opted for a grey-colored calf-skin strap with a vintage finish. Combined with the red stitching, is it the perfect match for this edition of the Knights of the Round Table. Only 28 pieces will be made of this watch, making it not only an artistic creation but an exclusive one as well.
