Lionel Ladoire, founder of LADOIRE Genéve, christened his newest creation, a unique RGT piece, “Origin of the Sun.”

For “Origin of the Sun,” Ladoire drew inspiration from the design of the Japanese Impérial flag, paying homage to the Japanese people who have shown courage and positive strength throughout the centuries.

‘Origin of the Sun’ in Japanese is Nippon or Nihon, and the ideograms in Kanji are engraved on the crown side of the titanium case. The platinum hand-cut display features the Japan Impérial Flag.

The timepiece, who took more than 300 hours to make, will officially be presented in Japan in May during the patronage of the Japanese Consul to Geneva. This unique haute horlogerie creation will be sent to auction where 30 percent of the sale price will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross for victims of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
