Robert De Niro is going to love this! Luxury watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen has revealed that it will auction off a unique timepiece to benefit the Tribeca Film Institute.
The manufacture, which is the Official ‘Festival-Time’ Partner of De Niro’s annual Tribeca Film Festival, has created a special Pilot’s Watch Spitfire Chronograph Edition “Tribeca Film Festival 2014” model.
This unique edition will be auctioned off by Antiquorum as part of a special package which also includes VIP access to the Tribeca Film Festival, an invitation to the “For the Love of Cinema” private dinner hosted by IWC Schaffhausen, and luxury hotel accommodation in New York City. The entire proceeds of the sale will benefit the Tribeca Film Institute, the nonprofit affiliate of the film festival.
The Pilot’s Watch Spitfire Chronograph Edition “Tribeca Film Festival 2014” features a 43mm 18K red gold case and a slate-colored dial with two Bordeaux subdials. The caseback features a Tribeca Film Festival 2014 engraving.
Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, commented, “I am thrilled to continue the partnership with Tribeca Film Festival, and to help cultivate the bright young talent of the film industry with IWC’s contribution to Tribeca Film Institute. This is a cause that is closely aligned with IWC’s long-standing tradition of supporting the art of cinema, by aiding the next generation of filmmakers in pursuing their craft to the fullest potential. Storytelling is an important element deeply embedded in everything that we do, as is excellence in technical achievement, both of which are also vital to great filmmaking.”
