On Saturday 8th, A Santoni leather artisan will be demonstrating their famous skills in ‘anticatura,’ a painstaking, multi-layered colouring process that is used on many of the custom-made straps that adorn select IWC timepieces. The demonstration is part of Harrods’ ‘Made With Love’ campaign, a series of in-depth demonstrations, product launches and bespoke activities taking place at the luxury department store through the month of August. The month-long event, which began on August 1st, gives discerning customers the opportunity to enjoy a number of activities that bring them closer to their favorite luxury brands. Also included are exclusive and limited edition products and personalization services.

Founded in Corridonia, Italy, by Andrea Santoni and his wife Rosa in 1975, Santoni has become emblematic of the highest quality handmade shoes. The brand began an exclusive partnership with IWC in 2011, and its distinctive straps can be found on the new Portugieser Perpetual Calendar and Portofino Midsize Collection.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer customers such a rare insight into the artisanship and skill that goes into creating every one of IWC’s bespoke Santoni watch straps,” comments IWC Brand Director Simon Chambers, “Santoni has proven an ideal partner for the brand, sharing our high standards of excellence with meticulous attention to detail and a love of craftsmanship.”
