Can you crack the code of the latest Rolls-Royce Wraith special edition? It’s no easy feat, as only two people in the world know the secret, encrypted cipher messages that are the key component of the new Wraith Kryptos Collection.

This elusive, limited-edition luxury vehicle is a cryptography-lovers’ dream come true. With only 50 units being made, the Kryptos Collection serves as the perfect embodiment of the brand’s ethos of delivering bespoke products to its collectors, utilizing the finest materials and contemporary applications.

The Wraith Kryptos Collection features the encrypted cipher throughout the car—upon first glance, appearing as an alluring design for aesthetic purposes only. However, upon further examination with a keen eye, it is clear that there is, indeed, a hidden message there that only those few who hold the key will come to realize.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, commented, “The brilliant and creative minds of our Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective have excelled once again, creating an extraordinarily contemporary and compelling iteration of Wraith. The Wraith Kryptos Collection, on first glance, is a statement of dynamism. On closer examination, a series of messages are hidden behind a unique Rolls-Royce cipher. I look forward to seeing whether any of our clients will crack the code!”

So, who exactly, holds the key to the code? Only two people at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood—the designer and the Chief Executive. The answer has been locked away in the safety of a sealed envelope inside the safe of the Chief Executive. Clients are encouraged to take a stab at cracking the code and submitting their guesses via a highly-secure, members-only Rolls-Royce application.

The enticing journey begins with the car’s emblematic Spirit of Ecstasy, which features an engraving with green enamel detailing, making its way to the bumper and inside the car, boasting a beautiful Delphic Grey bespoke color. Keeping in theme, only in the sunlight do the blue and green mica flakes appear, accentuated by a hand-painted double coachline with the upper Krystos Green and the lower in Dark Grey. The polished wheels complete the look with an Orbit Grey hue.

The most apparent clue lies within the car’s plush headrests, where the Rolls-Royce signature double R can often be found, which have the cipher embroidered throughout.

“The name Kryptos is derived from Ancient Greek, referring to something unseen, hidden and coded, mythical even. Ciphers can be traced through millennia, capturing the imagination of some of the world’s most brilliant minds,” says Rolls-Royce Bespoke Designer, Katrin Lehmann. “As a designer, I’ve always been fascinated by the notion that you can communicate messages that are understood by only an elite few, using symbols, pictograms, and ciphers. Finding the key becomes integral to appreciating the full meaning of an item that can otherwise be viewed simply as a work of art.”

Now only one question remains—who will crack the code? We’ll have to wait and see.
