Welcome to Haute Time Timepiece Madness! Our Haute Time curators have carefully selected the hautest timepieces shown at this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) and Basel World 2012. In our haute spin on March Madness, 32 of the most luxurious and technologically advanced timepieces from the finest watchmakers will compete against one another–with two timepieces going head to head each week, for readers to vote for their preference within each faceoff.

The competition will be fierce and each week will deliver faceoffs between the most coveted timepieces in the world. The watches with the most votes, at the end of the week, will be deemed hauter than their challengers and advance to the next round. The single timepiece remaining at the end of the tournament will be crowned with the distinction of being our ever-discerning readers’ favorite new timepiece. That’s haute.

Round 1 is in full swing and there are some interesting results so far. Currently the Audemars Piguet Extra Thin Royal Oak is taking down the Louis Vuitton Tambour Tourbillon,  the Panerai Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT  is pulling ahead of the MB&F HM4, while the Breguet  7727 10HZ and the Franck Muller Giga Tourbillon are nearly neck and neck

There are four days left to vote in Round 1. Support your favorite timepieces and vote  here!
