At BaselWorld, Haute Time met with Angela Arabo, who showed us the new watches launched by Jacob & Co. The most exciting piece was undoubtedly the Astronomia Tourbillon, which Haute Time got an exclusive look at during the fair.

The Astronomia Tourbillon, which Jacob & Co. created in collaboration with Studio 7H38, is a tourbillon that features the Earth and the Moon on its dial. It is an amazing piece, and even the pictures don’t do it justice.

Housed in a 47mm 18K red gold case, this piece features a unique 3D dial. At the center of the deep blue aventurine dial is a four-armed carrier, with a tourbillon, a balance, the Earth and the Moon at the end of the arms. The carrier sends its four arms around the dial in a 20-minute rotation. The tourbillon, balance, Earth and Moon all rotate on their own axes as well.

The hours and minutes are indicated on the tourbillon, with Roman numerals incorporated into the tourbillon’s carriage. The Earth is represented by a white gold sphere decorated with a deep blue grand feu enamel, while the Moon is represented by a briolette-cut diamond.

The dial is encased by a large domed sapphire crystal.
