At the recent digital edition of the LVMH Watch Week, it was the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire on which all the spotlights were aimed. This made it that the two other watches featuring the same movement did not get the attention they deserved. It is time to set that record straight, as they have a lot to offer, starting with the gorgeous movement.

Big Bang Tourbillon Auto BlackMagic
Caliber HUB6035 is the very first automatic tourbillon movement that comes out of the Hublot manufacture. As we have grown accustomed of the brand, is it not a straightforward movement. By utilizing transparent sapphire bridges and extensively skeletonizing the remaining parts, the timepiece becomes somewhat of a ‘mystery watch.’ Especially at the back, the sapphire crystal main plate creates the illusion that the gears are just stacked on top of each other, with nothing holding them together. This determines to a great extent the appeal of this Hublot.

Big Bang Tourbillon Auto Carbon
Carbon is a material Hublot has been working with for years, and which also feels right at home with the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic. While it has quite a few advantages, it gets even more interesting when finished with an upper layer of Texalium. This highlights the unique woven structure in a very high-tech way, perfectly complimenting the nature of the movement.

Black magic is a term Hublot uses to describe black ceramic. Just as sapphire crystal is ceramic a material that the brand uses extensively throughout its collection. It has also been able to achieve vibrant colored ceramic, that no other brand can make. To that extend, choosing black ceramic might seem boring, but the opposite is true. By using this material, the focus is entirely on the extraordinary movement, with its micro-rotor located at twelve o’clock and the tourbillon at six. Another advantage is the extended wearing comfort that the ceramic case is offering. It is not only light and scratch-resistant but also hypoallergenic, and it heats up to body temperature fast. This all makes the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Black Magic not only a formidable watch but also a comfortable daily companion, something not all watches of this complexity can claim.
