On Tuesday, May 16, Haute 100 member and CEO of Audemars Piguet, François-Henry Bennahmias welcomed guests to a special evening reception for the brand’s inaugural art commission, “Synchronicity,” an immersive instillation created by Swiss artist Robin Meier. The new instillation is the first work supported by the annual Audemars Piguet Art Commission.

Bennanhmias welcomed over 250 guests to the event, saying “Art has always been an important source of inspiration for Audemars Piguet and collaborating with someone like Robin who is so accessible and who makes you travel to the heart of nature is such a different and poetic experience. We want to thank him and Marc-Olivier for producing such a great project.” The CEO also thanked Art Basel for their ongoing partnership with Audemars Piguet.

Meier’s large-scale “Synchronicity” installation explores order in nature. The exhibit examines the natural phenomena of how fireflies found in remote parts of the world flash bioluminescent light in unison, and how crickets chorus together in a single regulated pulse.

The reception was held at Volkshaus. After a round of speeches, guests were given the opportunity to visit the mysterious instillation in small groups with the artist.
