Haute horlogerie house Montblanc of Germany have unveiled a stunning virtual reality exhibition on display in the windows at luxury department store Harrods in London.

The augmented virtual reality experience set up by Montblanc in the store windows allows shoppers to take a virtual tour of the company’s cutting edge collection of Art chronographs, which is housed in Hamburg, Germany.

Shoppers and watch enthusiasts can use their smartphones to tour the collection via augmented reality technology. One need simply hold up their tablet device or smartphone, and point it towards one of the static images on display in the Harrods windows to have it come to life, an experience which transports the user to Hamburg.

The virtual collection will be on display at Harrods until the end of the week. Included in the viewing experience is a virtual store, where viewers will have the opportunity to purchase one of four exclusive items including watches that will be on offer.

Harrods is arguably the most famous department store on the planet.  The upscale retailer to the wealthy, founded in 1824, is located on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
