Luxury watches retailer Govberg Jewelers commenced the new year by welcoming two high-profile executives to its C-suite.

On January 9, the company announced the appointment of Michael Manjos as Chief Revenue Officer and of Shri Ballal as Chief Technology Officer. The expansion of the leadership team comes after months of growth for Govberg and its pre-owned e-commerce venture, WatchBox, and aims to usher the business into the next chapter of its ascent toward a $500 million sales operation.

Taking up a newly created position, Manjos, who boasts over three decades of experience in the watch industry, is to oversee the optimization of sales revenue and commercial activities across all departments of both Govberg and WatchBox. He comes to Govberg after 17 years as the Senior Vice President of Merchandising and Head of Global Watches for Betteridge. His knowledge of selling, trading and buying luxury watches is to guide his work with Govberg’s high-end clients but also his endeavor to open up new opportunities for WatchBox.

“It is rare to find someone who understands the primary business and is respected by the leading luxury watch brands; and at the same time, maintains Mike’s level of knowledge of the secondary watch market and the nuances and trends across global markets,” said Danny Govberg, CEO of Govberg and co-founder of WatchBox, on Manjos’ appointment.

Not a sliver less influential is Shri Ballal, who, for more than 20 years, has developed various innovative, cloud-based technologies across disparate industries. He is to lead Govberg and WatchBox’s digital evolution, while bringing user-friendly consistency to their websites and mobile applications.

“An evidence of [Ballal’s] ingenuity will be brought to market in the next quarter, as Shri rolls out intriguing mixed reality products to drive the future of luxury watch commerce,” said Govberg and WatchBox President Amanda Ellison.
