In a special move designed to celebrate the city of Miami’s Art Week, haute horlogerie manufacture Girard-Perregaux of Switzerland, also a partner in the event’s organization, launched a limited edition timepiece specifically created for the occasion:  the FOReverglades watch.

The Art Week event opened on November 30, and featured works by renowned artist William Sweetlove and the collective Cracking Art Group.  The artworks exhibited highlight representations of animals from Florida’s iconic Everglades ecosystem.

The Girard-Perregaux launch event took place on Wednesday, December 5 at an exclusive breakfast and cocktail held in Miami’s best-known landmark, the Freedom Tower.  Guests were able to enjoy Sweetlove’s art, and VIP’s attending included Miami-Dade College President Eduardo Padrón and Alfonso Barattolo, the Italian consul.

Michele Sofisti,   CEO of Sowind ( Girard-Perregaux and JEANRICHARD) presented Padrón with one of the limited edition watches to honor his unwavering support for education and the fine arts.

“We are very proud to unveil this special watch,” she said.  “The importance of preserving our environment is beautifully represented in FOReverglades and we hope that together we are able to spread the message further and increase public awareness”.

The day’s festivities continued into the evening with a champagne toast and a guided tour of the art exhibit at the Freedom Tower was provided by Sweetlove.   Guests were also treated to a gourmet dinner at the famous Tuyo restaurant.

The limited edition FOReverglades chronograph showcases a steel case with a mechanical, automatic winding movement from the Girard-Perregaux manufacture.  The strap playfully yet elegantly is done in white with red crocodiles; the FOReverglades logo is also prominently featured.
