We offer reviews of numerous expensive watches, including Cvstos‘ Cahllenge Jet-Liner Carbon, De Bethune’s DB28, and Harry Winston’s Ocean Triple Retrograde Chronograph.

The case of the Challenge Jet-Liner Carbon is composed of inlaid carbon fiber, set marquetry style behind windows cut out of a red gold (or titanium) case. Each piece of carbon is coated with seven layers of lacquer and fired in an oven to fuse the layers together. The strap repeats the carbon fiber pattern, creating the illusion of one continuous piece of fiber. The movement is the open-worked automatic CVSTOS CVS350 with black plasma treatment, or black rhodium treatment for the titanium version.

The DB28 by De Bethune not only features a truly unique movement, but also a beautiful platinum and blued-steel sphere visible on the dial and rotates on its own axis to show the moonphase. This spectacular watch is also the Winner of the 11th Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, De Bethune’s DB28 was awarded the prize for Watch of the Year. De Bethune’s DB28 features a Calibre DB 2115 mechanical, hand-wound movement, elaborately hand decorated. The titanium case measures 45mm and has a polished titanium dial. Showing hours, minutes, moon phases as well as the power reserve on the dial, De Bethune’s DB28 speaks for itself.

The 44mm case of Harry Winston’s Ocean Triple Retrograde Chronograph is made of Zalium, a Harry Winston trademarked material, that is an aluminum and zirconium alloy with extreme durability and very light in weight. The alloy also features a beautiful gun metal finish, perfect for the style and design of this timepiece. Powered by a mechanical self-winding movement, in fact the same movement used in The Harry Winston Z1, the Ocean Triple Retrograde Chronograph is part of The Harry Winston Ocean Collection and is also available in white gold or rose gold, with some options for the dial as well. The Harry Winston Ocean Triple Retrograde Chronograph is shown here on a sporty strap and can be paired with alligator leather as well.
