Haute Time was invited to join the industry’s most prestigious watch manufactures at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva, Switzerland. After the debut of many exciting new timepieces by Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels, Panerai, and many more, Seth and I picked our favorites. For a look at the best unveilings from SIHH 2013, here are a few of our favorite new timepieces from my Haute Time Watch of the Day feature.

Richard Mille RM 56-01 Sapphire Crystal Tourbillon

This magnificent timepiece is created from sapphire crystal. The case, movement, baseplate, wheels and bridges of the watch are sapphire, making it transparent, which reflects light beautifully through the timepiece and really showcases the movement.

Richard Mille’s Sapphire Crystal Tourbillon features an RM 56-01 caliber tourbillon movement. Hours and minutes are displayed on the dial along with a power reserve indicator at 11 o’clock and a torque indicator at 2 o’clock.

The Sapphire Crystal Tourbillon is shown here on a transparent elastic strap constructed from a material called Aerospace Nano®, which Richard Mille developed with a company called Biwi SA . The strap integrates perfectly with the sapphire case.

Richard Mille takes it to the next level with the Sapphire Crystal Tourbillon and continues to merge new materials, technology, design and creativity to create this amazing timepiece.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Grande Complication

This contemporary style, combined with titanium, ceramic and a Caliber 2885 self winding movement, exemplifies the dedication of Audemars Piguet and the art of watchmaking.

The Royal Oak Offshore Grande Complication Titane features a 44mm case with a black ceramic bezel, crown and pushers. The dial is sapphire with white gold hour markers, white counters and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating. The functions of this timepiece include a minute repeater, perpetual calendar, split second chronograph, hours, minutes and small seconds.

The Grande Complication also boasts a striking mechanism sound on two gongs, and is carefully hand finished and polished with the utmost precision. This amazing timepiece is water resistant to 20 meters and is shown here on a black rubber strap with titanium pin buckle.

Panerai Luminor 1950 Regatta 3 Days Chrono Flyback Titanio

This timepiece features a 47mm case in brushed titanium, with a polished bezel, transparent sapphire caseback and the trademarked device protecting the crown. The titanium case houses an automatic mechanical Panerai P.9100/R calibre movement with a 3 day power reserve.

The dial is black and features luminous numerals and markers, a chronograph hour counter at 3 o’clock and seconds at 9 o’clock. With hours, minutes and small seconds functions, the Luminor 1950 Regatta 3 Days Chrono Flyback Titanio also features a flyback chronograph, a regatta countdown, a knots scale which calculates boat speed and a seconds reset. The Panerai Luminor 1950 Regatta 3 Days Chrono Flyback Titanio is shown here on a personalized rubber strap with a brushed titanium buckle. This piece also comes with a second interchangeable strap and tools.

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor in Silicon

This Roger Dubuis timepiece is created using silicon, which is extremely light and durable – it weighs half what titanium does yet is four times harder. The case is described as “metallic crystal”, and has a stunning greyish color. The silicon used to create it is similar in atomic makeup to a diamond and takes just as much expertise to work with.

The Roger Dubuis Excalibur in Silicon features an RD101 hand-wound mechanical movement, which uses a new complication with 40 hour power reserve. It is shown here on a black hand-stiched genuine alligator strap with a silicium folding buckle.

Roger Dubuis will produce 3 pieces of this Excalibur Quatuor.

IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur Constant Force Tourbillon

IWC uses a patented constant-force mechanism integrated into the tourbillon to guarantee the utmost precision in this model, inspired by a sportscar engine block. The Ingenieur Constant Force Tourbillon features a 46mm platinum and ceramic case housing a Calibre 94800 mechanical and hand-wound movement.

The dial delivers hours and minutes, along with a seconds dial over the tourbillon, power reserve display, a double moon phase for both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, as well as a countdown display showing phases leading to the next full moon. Shown here on a black alligator leather strap, the IWC Ingenieur Constant Force Tourbillon can be yours for only $290,000 – a small price to pay for such an Haute timepiece.

Montblanc Collection Villeret 1858 Exo-Tourbillon Chronographe

This beautiful collector’s piece by Montblanc will be available as part of a limited edition of only 8 pieces in 18k rose gold, 8 pieces in 18k white gold, and only 1 special piece in platinum.

The Exo-Tourbillon Chronographe features an 18k, 47mm case housing an MBM 16.60 hand-wound movement. The beautiful 18k gold, anthracite and silvered dial displays the hours in the first and second time zones at 6 o’clock. At the center of the dial we see the minutes, on a subdial at 9 o’clock are the continuous seconds, as well as a day/night indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock, and a 30 minute counter at 3 o’clock.

Ralph Lauren RL67 Safari Tourbillon

This sporty new timepiece is part of the Ralph Lauren Safari Collection and features a stainless steel 45mm case. The case has a beautiful sandblasted gun-metal finish and houses an impressive micro-rotor powered self-winding tourbillon made for Ralph Lauren by La Fabrique du Temps.

The matte black dial features roman numerals, luminescent hour and minute hands, and the tourbillon cage at 6 o’clock. With a 38 hour power reserve, the RL Safari Tourbillon is water-resistant to 50 meters . This is the first Tourbillon introduced by the Ralph Lauren watch brand.

Jaeger-Lecoultre Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique

This impressive timepiece by Jaeger-LeCoultre features a platinum 42mm case housing a Caliber 985 Automatic movement with a 48 hour power reserve. The Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique has a beautiful silver- grained dial with black transferred hour-markers and Dauphines hands marking the hours and minutes. This new timepiece by Jaeger-LeCoultre combines the brand’s heritage with the most modern technology. The Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique functions include a perpetual calendar, moon phase and of course the tourbillon. Available on a leather strap with a platinum pin buckle, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Cylindrique is limited to 180 pieces.

A. Lange & Söhne Grand Lange 1 “Lumen”

As part of a limited edition collection of 200 pieces, this model is featured in platinum. The case measures 40.9mm and houses a Lange Manufacture Caliber L095.2 movement with a 72-hour power reserve. The black semi-transparent dial of the Grand Lange 1 “Lumen” is a combination of sapphire crystal and blackened silver, which creates amazing depth on the dial. The time is indicated in hours and minutes in one dial and subsidiary seconds on another sub-dial, along with a power reserve indicator and an outsize date. The A. Lange & Söhne Grand Lange 1 “Lumen” is shown on a black leather strap.

Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon Technique Black Titanium

This amazing invention by Greubel Forsey shows the brand’s philosophy of witnessing technical beauty in a timepiece. The gears are all visible on the dial and a sapphire crystal ring inside the bezel displays the hours and minutes without obstructing the view on this three-dimensional dial. At 6 o’clock, we see the double tourbillon on a 30 degree tilt, one tourbillon rotating inside the other. The power reserve indicator is at 3 o’clock and the running seconds are shown at 9 o’clock. The Double Tourbillon Technique, shown here in black titanium, has a case measuring 47.5mm and houses a Caliber GF02S hand-wound movement with a 120 hour power reserve. Shown here on a black stitched rubber strap, the Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon Technique in black titanium is a great addition to the Greubel Forsey family.

Cartier Panthère Divine Watch

This stunning debut is part of the Les Heures Fabuleuses de Cartier Collection and certainly makes a statement. The watch case is 18k white gold plated with rhodium, set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The black brass dial features a guilloche design, and is the perfect backdrop for the panther, which is set with brilliant-cut diamonds and features black enamel spots. The hands on this timepiece are offset on the dial, and mark the hours and minutes with rhodium plated steel hands. Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle High Jewellery

The Patrimony Traditionnelle High Jewellery is available in a 35mm case or 40mm case, and features over 16 carats of claw-set baguette cut diamonds. The diamonds are beautifully set onto the case, dial, bezel, lugs and crown of the watch, covering every inch of the case and creating an amazing pattern on the timepiece.

The Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle High Jewellery model is a stunning timepiece equipped with a Caliber 1400 mechanical winding movement. The movement, created and developed by Vacheron Constantin, is visible through the sapphire-crystal caseback and decorated with the utmost detail and care. Hours and minutes are measured on the dial using 18k white gold hands.

The Patrimony Traditionnelle is shown on a black satin strap and features an 18k white gold diamond set buckle.

Piaget Limelight Gala

The 18k white gold case of the Limelight Gala measures 32mm and features 62 brilliant-cut diamonds. The dial is also fully paved with 228 brilliant-cut diamonds, with white gold indexes and hands to mark the hours and minutes. The bracelet of Piaget’s Limelight Gala is paved with 451 brilliant-cut diamonds and features an integrated clasp. The dazzling Limelight Gala features a Piaget 690P Quartz movement. This beautiful timepiece is inspired by the glamorous jewelry designs of the 1960s, and fits perfectly into the contemporary collection of high jewelry pieces offered by Piaget.

Van Cleef & Arpels Ballerine Enchantée

This enchanting timepiece, released as part of the 2013 “Poetic Complication” collection, was inspired by a quote from Anna Pavlova; “I’ve been dreaming that I was a ballerina, and that I was spending my whole life dancing as lightly as a butterfly”. The Ballerine Enchantée features a breathtaking dial showing a ballerina in white gold, set with diamonds with enamel and a blue wave guilloche background.

The Van Cleef & Arpels Ballerine Enchantée features a double retrograde movement which displays time on demand, when the wearer pushes a button located at 8 o’clock. When the button activates, the ballerina’s tutu begins to move. The veil which indicates the hours rises on one side, and on the other marks the minutes, in true poetic fashion. As the time displays, the ballerina takes the form of a beautiful butterfly; she then returns to her original form as the wings and time retract. The Ballerine Enchantée is 40.5mm and is 18k white gold, shown on an elegant white strap with matching 18k white gold buckle.
