Tortue_watch_medium_model_pink_goldLike many luxury watches this year, the Cartier Tortue has been slimmed down. The new extra-flat version has been reduced in thickness, and the domed case has been replaced by a flatter, more elongated version. The Tortue, originally launched in 1912, has a case design inspired by the outline of a tortoise. It is one of the brand’s iconic “shaped watches” along with the Tonneau, the Baignoire and the Crash. The new Tortue retains the classic Roman numerals, sword-shaped hands, rail-track index and guilloché dial of Cartier’s signature design codes. The movement is the manual wound Caliber 430MC, and the case is 18k pink gold.
