Swiss horologer Hublot and French champagne house Veuve Clicquot unveiled their latest collaboration, the Classic Fusion Veuve Clicquot. The watch marks the 10th anniversary of Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, which is to transpire on June 3 in New York under the official timekeeping of Hublot, which is also the event’s scoreboard sponsor.

The two partners introduced the novel timepiece at an intimate cocktail party at Fifth Avenue Boutique. Among the high-profile guests was Argentine polo player and Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic co-founder Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras.

“It has been an honor to be a part of this amazing Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic event since the very beginning,” said Figueras in a press statement on the occasion. “My passion has always been to make polo a more mainstream and accessible sport and it is great to have the support of partners like Hublot to help bring new offerings to the experience.”

As attendees nibbled on hors d’oeuvres and sipped Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label champagne, Hublot Managing Director for America Jean-Francois Sberro presented Figueras with a Classic Fusion Veuve Clicquot.

Aside from its official timekeeping duties and the premiere of the Classic Fusion Veuve Clicquot, during the tournament, Hublot is to exhibit a selection of its creations at the Rosé Garden, which offers a spectacular view toward Liberty State Park, where actor Neil Patrick Harris is to host Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.

“Veuve Clicquot defines their brand by being ‘modern and audacious,’ while living up to their motto of being the finest in quality,” said Sberro in a press release. “This philosophy resonated with us at Hublot as we strive to be a trailblazer in the watch industry; always evolving to be at the forefront of new concepts and technology. Our shared attributes, along with Hublot’s love for the sport, made this partnership feel like a natural connection.”

Sporting Hublot’s HUB1155 caliber and a skeletonized sapphire dial, and rendered in satin-finished and polished black ceramic, the 45mm watch now retails at $17,700 in a limited run of only 10 pieces at Hublot Fifth Avenue Boutique.
