By Roberta Naas In an exclusive preview today, we had the opportunity for an up-close and personal look at the watches in the new Tiffany & Co. 2016 Blue Book. This year’s theme explores nature in the concept of The Art of Transformation. The storied Tiffany Blue Book is an annual presentation of one-of-a-kind creations for the brand’s special clients. This year, in addition to stunning sea creatures bedecked in shimmering diamonds and gemstones, Tiffany & Co is unveiling a host of specially made high-jewelry watches. There is also a series of three different oval bejeweled cocktail watches that feature colored stones set into the top of the case and the dial in graduated colors from dark to light – to give a scintillating waterfall effect.

Four Fantastic World-First Watches From Baselworld 2016

By Roberta Naas Every year we delight in finding amazing timepieces at Baselworld. This year was no exception. True, due to global economic downturns and investment-shy retailers, there was not as much newness (in terms of quantity) unveiled at the exhibition as we may have liked, but what was introduced was quality timepieces. In fact, this could be the year that the “less is more” mantra, or “quality over quantity” played out the strongest. Among those quality watch unveilings this year were several “world firsts.” In fact, we counted nearly a dozen that are worthy of discussion, but that is far too many for this article, so we are planning installments. Here we bring you the first four world-first or world-record-setting watches unveiled at BaselWorld 2016.
