It was a grand slam weekend in tennis with smashing results at Wimbledon. The Milos Raonic versus Andy Murray finals were fantastic. But in the end, Raonic couldn’t keep up the pace and Murray came out victorious at this oldest tennis tournament in the world. On Saturday, Serena Williams took home the title on the women’s side – mastering her 22nd Grand Slam victory. But this article is not about the winners. It is about the watches the tennis stars wear or represent. In fact, on the court this year, there were a number of watch names involved.

To begin with, of course, Rolex is the title sponsor. This leading Swiss watch brand has had a nearly four-decades-long role in The Championships, Wimbledon. The relationship began in 1978, when the brand first became the Official Timekeeper. You can read more about that here.

As to the players, there were a host of watch brand ambassadors on the court. Serena Williams is a brand ambassador for Audemars Piguet. She wears her watch while playing.

Milos Raonic is a brand ambassador for Rolex, as is 7-time Wimbledon winner Roger Federer. In fact, more than half a dozen players this year are in the Rolex line-up, as well, including Ana Ivanovic, Li Na, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Caroline Wozniacki, Ana Ivanovic, Grigor Dimitrov, Justine Heinn, Bjorn Borg.

Rafael Nadal, who was out due to injury, is a brand ambassador for Richard Mille, and is one of the few (in addition to Williams) who wears his watch during matches.

Other tennis-playing watch brand ambassadors include Stan Wawrinka, who is also a brand ambassador for Audemars Piguet. Key Nishikori is a brand ambassador for TAG Heuer. Novak Djokovic is on board as a brand ambassador with Seiko.

It should be noted that Andy Murray was, for several years, a brand ambassador for Rado, but that contract expired last year and to date he has not announced another watch affiliation.
