Vacheron Constantin unveils the Patrimony Moon Phase and Retrograde Date — a Pre-SIHH 2017 release

Easily one of the most beloved collections from Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest watchmaker, the Patrimony is being joined by an exciting new 18-karat gold small-complication sibling. The Patrimony Moon Phase and Retrograde Date watch houses an all-new movement that features the cycle and age of the moon on a display altho is accurate for 122 years before needing a correction. That is because the moon phase is calibrated to correspond to the exact age of the moon:29 days, 12 hours and 45 minutes.

Additionally, a retrograde date  indication graduates from 1 to 31 in an arc across the top portion of the dial. The piece carries the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva certification attesting to its superior craftsmanship. Inspired by the brand’s watches from the 1950’s, the Patrimony timepieces are typically classically clean. The new 42.5mm watch — while offering the retrograde date and moon phase indication — follows that creed. It also offers optimum user friendly adjustments  of all functions via the crown.

The new Patrimony houses an  original self-winding 275-part movement made in house by Vacheron Constantin. The Caliber 2460 R31L offers 40 hours of power reserve and features a 22-karat gold rotor that is finished with the brand’s signature Maltese Cross motif. The meticulously finished movement is visible via a sapphire crystal case back. The timepiece is being offered in 18-karat pink gold and in 18-karat white gold. Each retails for $39,900.

The new timepiece comes in 18-karat rose or white gold.
