This week Vacheron Constantin have thrilled fans of the brand with the unveiling of not one but two new timepieces. The Swiss manufacture unveiled the Patrimony Traditionnelle small seconds watch and the Patrimony Contemporaine pocket watch, and Haute Time has your first look at these timepieces:

Let’s start with the Patrimony Traditionnelle small seconds watch, which Vacheron Constantin have described as a tribute to the manufacture’s creations from the period of the 1930s-1950s. This 38mm-diameter timepiece in 950 platinum features a slender bezel and fluted screw-down caseback with an inset sapphire crystal. The slate-grey dial displays the cycle of time with long 18-carat white gold applied hour-markers, dauphine hands and a painted white minute circle that stands out against the darker background. At its heart is a Vacheron Constantin 4400 movement which beats at a rate of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations/hour), with a 65-hour power reserve. The flat surfaces of the movement are adorned with the prestigious “Côtes de Genève” motif, while the angles are bevelled and hand-polished, as are the screw heads. However, it is not only the movement which meets the requirements of the Poinçon de Genève (Hallmark of Geneva); so too does the finished watch. A black Mississipiensis alligator leather strap fastened with a 950 platinum pin buckle finishes the look.

Next up is the Patrimony Contemporaine pocket watch, a timepiece designed to evoke the same enthusiasm as the first pocket watch made by Jean-Marc Vacheron in 1755. Once again bearing the Poinçon de Genève, this classical design begins with a slender 43mm-diameter case in 18K 5N pink gold. The pure opaline silver-toned dial features pink gold baton-shaped hands and delicately applied hour-markers. From the transparent sapphire crystal caseback the mechanical hand-wound Calibre 4400 can be glimpsed, providing a closer look at the movement, which was conceived, developed and produced by Vacheron Constantin. This timepiece is delivered with a 30cm brown calf leather cord, and an 18K 5N pink gold chain is available on order.
