Luxury watchmakers Vacheron Constantin have strengthened their presence in Asia with the opening of a second retail space in Hong Kong, marking the brand’s second boutique in Hong Kong and 31st boutique worldwide. The new 100 square metre boutique at the Landmark Prince boasts Venetian glass decorations and a warm decor, making it an intimate, elegant setting for the Geneva-based manufacture to showcase its timepieces.

Mr. Juan-Carlos Torres, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Yann Bouillonnec, the company’s Commercial Director, flew in to Hong Kong from Geneva to celebrate the opening together with Mr. Julien Tornare, Vacheron Constantin’s Asia-Pacific Managing Director. The company invited watch collectors and Hong Kong socialites to attend an exclusive cocktail reception, where they got a preview of the pieces which will be available exclusively at this boutique. During the preview, the new Malte Collection was introduced, comprising the Malte Tourbillon, Malte Small Seconds and a special limited-edition anniversary watch. The year 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the presentation of the tonneau-shaped cases.

To mark the opening of their second Hong Kong boutique and this momentous anniversary, Vacheron Constantin also created a special exhibition, called the “100th anniversary of Tonneau Shaped Watch”. The exhibition showcases a series of historically important tonneau-shaped timepieces, many of which were flown in from Geneva where they are normally part of Vacheron Constantin’s Heritage Collection.
